Service Description

Classes run most Saturdays during term time. There are two sessions to choose from, at either 10:30am or 11:30am. Each week we explore a different artist, technique or style. We use a range of art materials and mediums aimed at helping your child build their artistic skills and confidence. All materials are provided and the children get to take home their creations at the end of the session. Book individual sessions and pay as you go, or sign-up for a Subscription and get six classes for the price of five with 3 months to use them all. Choose the class that suits you and book using our online calendar.

Thank you for your interest in Leigh Art Society. We are an art club for young people aged 7 - 15 years who are interested in learning about art and being creative. We aim to provide a safe, supportive and fun environment for young people to explore their love of art. Our weekly classes and holiday sessions are an opportunity for children to learn about different artists, art forms and creative media. Helping your budding artist to develop their skills in observation, painting and drawing, as well as other art forms. Before joining a class: We take the wellbeing of all the children attending our art club extremely seriously. As part of our statutory safeguarding responsibility we are required to hold certain information for each child attending our classes. This includes any important medical information and emergency contact details. Before a child can attend class, parents or carers are required to complete a Consent Form for each child attending and confirm that they have read and agreed to our Booking Policy and Behaviour Policy. All questions on the Consent Form must be completed and the form signed by the parent or carer. Parents and carers must ensure they notify us of any changes to the information given on the form. On the day of the class: Parents and carers must make arrangements for children to be brought to and from the activity safely and on time. If a parent or carer is not able to collect their child, they need to let us know in advance who will be doing so. Please send children in suitable clothing. It does get messy in art class sometimes and we cannot take responsibility for any damaged clothing and/or personal items during the activity. Parents and carers should ensure children have sufficient water, food, clothing, sun lotion and medication (where appropriate) for the duration of the activity. Please note Our classes will often be facilitated by a lone staff member. This staff member is subject to an Enhanced DBS check with a children’s barred list check, is subject to our Adult Behaviour Code and has received training in Child Protection and Safeguarding. Classes can be cancelled with 1 hours notice. Late cancellation may result in a small fee to cover admin. Full copies of all our policies are available on our website.
